If you like the great Aussie bush, and relaxing in a chair next to your tent, then this campground is just what you’re after.
The park is less than an hour’s drive inland from Gympie, and the owners, Sue and Steve, are most welcoming to both dogs and people. You’ll no doubt meet their little dog while you’re there.
Camp sites are generous, each one with a fireplace, and even at peak holiday times the campground is never crowded. The amenities block is always clean, and there are often several green tree frogs in the shower cubicles.
While you’re there, go exploring the National Trail with your dog , there are bush walks up to the top of the hills where you can get some nice views of the surrounding area. A fair bit of the walk is uphill, so it may test your fitness, but you can go as far as you and your dog are comfortable, and then turn back.
The nearby Prophet Gold Mine has welcomed our dogs while we panned for gold, however it wouldn’t be advisable to take your dog if you wanted to do the tour of the facility.
